Invites you to our annual fall event. You will have the opportunity to share the fellowship of other Eagle Scouts aboard the Essex-built schooner Thomas E. Lannon on a sunset cruise out of Gloucester, MA.
You may bring one guest if you wish. Reserve passage early, as space is limited to the first 49 people to sign up. The vessel sails promptly at 5:00 p.m. from Seven Seas Wharf, adjacent to the Gloucester House Restaurant, Rogers Street, Gloucester, MA. Plan to arrive early. Light refreshments will be provided; soft drinks may be purchased aboard the vessel for $1.00. We suggest wearing sneakers or boat shoes.
Take Route 128 to Gloucester. Go through both traffic rotaries and the first traffic light. At the second traffic light (the end of Route 128), turn right on Main Street. Follow this road along the waterfront approximately 0.8 mile (note that the street changes to Rogers Street after about 0.3 mile). The Gloucester House Restaurant (metered parking) will be on the left and the schooner’s masts will be visible from the street.

The Thomas E. Lannon is named for owner Tom Ellis’ grandfather, who fished out of Gloucester from 1901-1943. She is licensed to carry 49 passengers. The Lannon was designed by Capt. Harold A. Burnham. His family has been building boats in Essex, MA since 1650. The Thomas E. Lannon’s lines are based on those of the Gloucester fishing schooner Nokomis, designed by Capt. George Melville McClain in 1903. Several changes were made by Capt. Burnham. For more information on the schooner and Gloucester, visit the website www.schooner.org
