Picture yourself
relaxing on the deck of this beautiful 65 foot schooner
as she sails out of Gloucester harbor on a light
southwesterly breeze. Join us for a two-hour sail
and get a taste for what it was like to sail on
a fishing schooner a hundred years ago. Help the
crew raise the sails, or just sit back and take
in the sights and sounds of Gloucester's coastline.
Our wooden ship is only five years old, but was
built along the lines of a traditional 1903 schooner.
The Lannon
sails promptly at 5:00pm from the Seven Seas Wharf,
adjacent to the Gloucester House Restaurant, Rogers
Street, Gloucester

Eagle Recognition
Banquet
Held in early February, the Eagle
Recognition Banquet honors the Eagle Scouts from
the prior year. Each Eagle Scout is partnered
with an adult sponsor
selected to match his field of interest.
The banquet program is conducted
by Eagle Scouts from each district and concludes
with keynote from an interesting guest speaker.
The
speaker for Alan Rieper Eagle Scout Class of 2007
was Alvin Townley
(bio), author of the book "Legacy
of Honor"
Mr. Townley's message to young
Eagles is that your time to do great things in now.
Don't wait.
Each Eagle receives a certificate
from the Eagle Scout Association and information
on applying for the Eagle Scout Scholarship.
The rank of Eagle
Scout is a life-long achievement, distinguishing
a man throughout his lifetime. In this spirit, The
Yankee Clipper Council has formed this Association
of Eagle Scouts.
The purpose the
Eagle Scout Association is to bring Eagle Scouts
together in a social setting in order to:
celebrate
the achievement
provide adult
Eagle Scouts with opportunities for their
own fellowship, association, and networking
heighten the
awareness of the Eagle ranks significance
and Scouting's positive impact in the community
Please take a moment
to ask yourself who amidst your circles is an Eagle
Scout. Then let us know.
